Beautiful architecture and unwavering dedication to the community since 1981

Building Neighborhoods is more than the SILVERMAN tagline—it defines the company’s mission, values, architectural aesthetic, and business model for over 40 years. Founded by brothers Eric and Paul, the company began spearheading Hamilton Park’s transformation into a lively community neighborhood in 2005 with the redevelopment of two city blocks bringing many new restaurants, shops, schools, and businesses to the area.

SILVERMAN looked to the neighborhood’s history, along with help from the Jersey City Public Library, for inspiration in naming the building. In 1885, Swift & Co. stables occupied the space at 170 Erie Street until the 1940s. Beyond the name, the Jersey City Public Library’s historic maps collection influenced the color palette and typographic style of the logo.
